Fanatec announces the ClubSport F1 Racing System, successor to its F1 wheel
Same ClubSport DD+ base, a new wheel derived from the Formula V3 and a Podium paddle module fitted as standard. The product awaits Sony final approval, and Fanatec has given no price or date.
On 16 September 2026, Fanatec announced the ClubSport F1 Racing System, an officially licensed Formula 1 base and wheel set planned for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC. It succeeds the ClubSport Racing Wheel F1: the ClubSport DD+ base stays, the wheel changes. Fanatec gives no price or release date. The product awaits final approval from Sony Interactive Entertainment, and production will only begin after that.
The set it replaces is the rig of the 2026 F1 Sim Racing World Championship, according to the page Fanatec devotes to the third event of the season, which we cite on the 2026 edition page.
The base does not change
The ClubSport DD+ is announced at up to 18 Nm of holding torque, with FullForce technology, which adds effects drawn from game telemetry to the force feedback. Fanatec says it works with its full range of pedals, shifters and accessories.
The wheel and the paddles
The ClubSport F1 V3 wheel is derived from the ClubSport Formula V3, in forged carbon and in F1 colours. Fanatec says it is wider than the wheel it replaces, for a more natural driving position. It carries 15 RGB LEDs, a 2.7-inch white OLED display, two 7-way FunkySwitches, rotary dials and 12-way switches.
The paddle module comes preinstalled. It is a version of the Podium Advanced Paddle Module specific to this product: upper and middle paddles in forged carbon, lower analogue paddles in black anodised aluminium.
What decides the date
The date depends on Sony. Fanatec writes that the product is under final review at Sony Interactive Entertainment, that the announcement itself was approved by SIE, and that production will start after final approval. The press release also states that use on PC is neither tested nor endorsed by Sony.
On console, compatibility comes from an authentication chip built into the hardware, which no update replaces. Our console licensing guide explains what that means when buying.
Fanatec announced the first public showing of the product at Tokyo Game Show 2026. We have not had it in our hands, and the specifications quoted are those of the manufacturer's press release.
