Gran Turismo 7 1.71: FullForce on the GT DD Pro, and force feedback losses
The 20 August update revises physics and force feedback, and enables FullForce on the GT DD Pro. Since then, Fanatec has been investigating disconnections and advises lowering the FUL setting.
On 20 August 2026, Polyphony Digital released update 1.71 for Gran Turismo 7. It revises tyre, steering and damper physics, changes force feedback strength and friction for wheels, and enables FullForce effects on the Fanatec GT DD Pro base, provided its firmware is updated. On 28 August, Fanatec announced it was investigating GT DD Pro bases that disconnect, lose force feedback or behave erratically since the update. As of 21 September, the issue still appears among the known issues of the Fanatec App.
The GT DD Pro is Fanatec's PlayStation-licensed base, derived from the CSL DD: 5 Nm with the standard power supply, 8 Nm with the Boost Kit.
What update 1.71 changes
For wheels, Polyphony Digital lists revised force feedback strength and friction, refined vibration effects under understeer, and improved throttle and brake response. The physics change too: tyre behaviour under wheel slip, steering geometry car by car, dampers and default setups.
The Auto Setup option of the Tuning Menu has been revised for the Fanatec GT DD Pro, GT DD Extreme and Podium bases. Selected from the wheel, it applies parameters optimised for Gran Turismo, which may require a firmware update. On a Podium, it is set for Low Torque mode: in High Torque mode, settings remain manual.
FullForce on the GT DD Pro
FullForce adds effects drawn from game telemetry to the force feedback. Fanatec says that with FullForce on, you feel the engine vibrate at idle with the car standing still, and that its intensity is set with the FUL parameter of the Tuning Menu. The effect needs up-to-date firmware, installed through the Fanatec App.
What Fanatec advises
In the update to its article, on 28 August, Fanatec writes that, according to the reports received, a FUL setting below 100 may reduce the likelihood of a disconnection. As a precaution, the brand therefore recommends lowering FUL, then reducing it further or turning it off if problems persist. If the base shuts down or does not work normally after a restart, it asks owners to contact its support with their firmware version, settings and power supply, 5 or 8 Nm.
The release notes of Fanatec App 1.6.1.3, published on 21 September, still list these issues among those being worked on. The GT DD Pro can lose force feedback in Gran Turismo 7, with the wheel spinning uncontrollably, and its SPR and DPR settings do not work in the game's menu. FullForce strength also remains lower than intended on the GT DD Pro and on the CSL DD.
This article reports Polyphony Digital's update notes and Fanatec's publications. We have not reproduced these issues. Our CSL DD review was carried out on PC, on Assetto Corsa, and says nothing about its behaviour in Gran Turismo 7.
