Gran Turismo 7: Spec IV starts on 15 October with Sportsland SUGO
The first part of the free Spec IV update, numbered 1.72, arrives on 15 October with the Sportsland SUGO circuit and six cars. The second, in December, will add Autumn Ring and a Family mode.
Polyphony Digital has set 15 October 2026 as the release date for the first part of Spec IV, the free Gran Turismo 7 update, numbered 1.72. The date was given on 3 October, with a trailer shown during the Singapore round of the Gran Turismo World Series. The second part is planned for December. Polyphony had announced it on 3 September as one of the game's biggest updates, for the 30th anniversary of the first Gran Turismo in 2027.
15 October: Sportsland SUGO and six cars
The new circuit is Sportsland SUGO, a technical Japanese track known for its elevation changes. The description of the official trailer lists the six cars:
- Citroën 2 CV 6 Charleston '86
- Ferrari F355 Berlinetta '94
- Honda Civic Si Group A version '87
- Honda Step WGN Spada Premium Line '23
- Mazda RX-VISION GT3 EVO '26
- Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo
This part also adds an opening cinematic, a Vintage section for cars no longer sold new, a Car Concierge service for ordering used and legend cars, an Experience mode made of brand-specific driving challenges, a Car Viewer to look at the cars in your garage, and a higher Collector Level cap.
December: Autumn Ring and a Family mode
The second part will add Autumn Ring, in its original layout and in a new, much longer configuration, and six more cars. It also brings a Family mode designed for children and beginners, a Shuffle Race with randomly drawn cars, an Online Drift Trial mode that ranks players worldwide on drifting, a new version of the Gran Turismo Sophy artificial intelligence and a Power Pack difficulty level for experienced players.
On the wheel side
Polyphony's announcements say nothing about force feedback or wheels for this update. The previous one, 1.71 on 20 August, revised force feedback and enabled FullForce effects on the Fanatec GT DD Pro. Thrustmaster, which unveiled its T-GT III bundle the same day, promises to follow the Spec updates with firmware updates.
This article reports the announcements published by Gran Turismo on 3 September and 3 October 2026, and the description of the official trailer, read on 6 October 2026.
